Privacy Policy

We don't collect more data than we need. Here's exactly what we do with what you send us.

1. What We Collect

When you use RedAPI, we collect:

  • API request data — The text, documents, or content you send through our endpoints for processing. This is processed in real-time and is not stored longer than needed.
  • Usage metrics — API call counts, endpoint usage, response times, and error rates. Aggregated, not tied to specific request content.
  • Account information — Email address, billing information, and RapidAPI account details when you sign up for a paid plan.
  • Technical logs — IP addresses, browser type, and general location data (country-level only). These are anonymized after 30 days.

What we don't collect: We don't store the content of your API requests after processing completes. Your input data is never used to train our models.

2. How We Use It

Your data is used for:

  • Processing your requests — Running your text through our AI models to return results. This happens in real-time.
  • Service improvement — Analyzing aggregate patterns to improve model accuracy and API reliability. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
  • Billing — Calculating usage-based charges for paid plans. Handled through RapidAPI's payment infrastructure.
  • Support — Responding to your technical support requests when you contact us directly.

We do not sell your data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. That's not our business model.

3. Data Retention

Here's how long we keep different types of data:

Data Type Retention Period
API request content Processed in real-time, not permanently stored
API response content Returned to you, not stored by us
Technical logs (IP, browser) 30 days, then anonymized
Usage metrics 24 months for billing and analytics
Account information Until account deletion + 90 days
Error logs 90 days for debugging purposes

4. Who We Share With

We share data with:

  • RapidAPI — Our marketplace and payment processor. Their privacy policy governs their data handling.
  • Infrastructure providers — Cloud hosting services (AWS/GCP) that process and store data on our behalf. Bound by data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to prevent illegal activity.

We do not share your API content with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Security

  • Encryption in transit — All API requests use HTTPS/TLS 1.2+
  • Encryption at rest — Customer data stored in our databases is encrypted
  • Access controls — API keys required for all endpoints; credentials are hashed, never stored in plaintext
  • Regular audits — We review access logs and conduct periodic security reviews
  • Incident response — If a breach occurs, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours

Note: While we implement enterprise-grade security measures, no system is 100% secure. We recommend not sending sensitive personal data (like SSNs or medical records) through our APIs unless absolutely necessary.

6. Your Rights

  • Access your data — Request a copy of any account or usage data we have about you
  • Correct your data — Update inaccurate account information
  • Delete your data — Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Export your data — Download your account information in a standard format
  • Opt out — Decline non-essential data collection (though some features may be affected)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@redapi.dev. We'll respond within 30 days.
